Sorry, was super busy and just saw your question. 1/2 lb. to a 1lb sounds good. Looks like you went with 1/2 lb. You could always add the other 1/2 to secondary or at bottling if need be.

Oh man, I would love to get in on this. We are already at capacity right now and can’t fit another brew in. This needs to be done again soon. I vote for doing this once every couple months.

I agree, the toasted oats would be nice. Any thoughts on how much lactose to use? I was planning on half pound for the 5 gallon batch, but not sure if that’s enough to get the nice creamy characteristic.

I think I would add 1-1.5 lbs. of oats after toasting them in the oven. Lactose is also a delicious choice. 2 lbs. of roasted grains seems like a lot, so the lactose will be a nice balancing addition.
